The "friend" should realize too that if he's the biological father, he could be held responsible for child support if the mother decided to pursue it.

Its me and my best friend. We're close, this is why we've put it as a 5 year plan. Gives us time to save up, I'll be there to support her. I want to be in the childs life. We already understand that by committing to each other like this means that the idea of having relationships would dramatically drop.

That's quite a commitment. I wonder what would happen if either of you meet someone you "love" after you have the baby. This might sound good in theory, but I'm not sure it's the best thing for the child.
