I know a couple of people that have used Chantix, and it really does work if your wanting to quit, but if you dont really wanna quit, dont waste your money because you will start again as soon as its gone. The people i know have not had any side effects and have had excellent results. Blessings!

My doctor refused to prescribe it to me. She knows my history of depression and she is afraid I will kill myself or someone else. Must be some wicked sh!t.

Ask about Topamax and using it off-label.

Hi JulesInBmore! Actually I currently am on Topomax. Its great for migraines and AWESOME for weigh-loss, but it hasnt seemed to curb my cravings to smoke, but thanks for your post! Lisa

It worked for a friend of mine, he used it for three weeks, then started getting funky dreams and stopped, he's been off cigarettes for 4 years now, so it worked well enough to get him going at least

Thank you all for answering! Well, I have read that people fall into deep depressions, get suicidal, total personality change. etc... Plus I have heard about the wierd dreams, I have heard they are really intense and horrifying. But, ya know, I have GOT to stop smoking, and I think I am just going to start taking the Chantix. If I feel wierd I can just stop and know at least I gave it a try! Thanks 4 all of the feedback, you guys are so nice! Lisa

Sure thing, Lisa. That sounds like an alright idea to give it a try and stop if anything is wonky, as long as you don't already have a mental health issue of some sort, then I would look for anther alternative.
