I'm not certain what you mean by "partner". I know this does to change the subject but,........when you speak of a man's "partner" what can I assume and what can I not assume? Should I post a follow up question to discover what type of relationship this is and or what sex the "partner" is? Otherwise I have to make assumptions.

See, This is how complicated this “partner” word has gotten in my head. OK,...Two guys - Shoe count doesn't matter, unless it matters to one or both of them. Two women - Shoe count doesn't matter, unless it matters to one or both of them. Opposite sex couple - Shoe count doesn't matter, unless it matters to one or both of them. If they (whoever) like having lots of shoes, then I think it's OK. BUT, for the "partner" that doesn't like the very idea of the other "partner" having more shoes than they have, THAT one sounds like the "partner" with the problem. LOL
