    At the older age get them a very big cardboard box or possibly more than one and then play with them! Build different things with it. Possibly paint it with water colors or draw on it with crayons. Let them use their imaginations -- but there WITH them -- engaged, involved and they will have a better Christmas than many more financially spoiled children.
