4 years isn't really that much of a difference. I only think it would be wrong if you're engaging in sexual activity with him. But just dating? No.

I applaud your parents for having common sense when it came to this situation. You do not "NEED to date" at 14. My daughter will not be allowed to date until she is 16 years old. It is important that she be empowered to handle herself in a dating situation. She should at least be able to drive in case her date has some problems or issues. You will grow up in sufficient enough time. Don't be in such a hurry to "act" like an adult.

Not a good idea. If both are at a mature level thats one thing but at the young age of 14 honey your to young.

mmm, your a bit young for him just now. The difference in age isn't really an issue, however the fact that your only 14 IS. The laws about relations between and adults and minors are there for real reasons. For one, adults are a bit more mature (in some cases >.>) and have a better understanding of what they're getting into. They've got jobs, opportunities etc. for support a family. A minor doesn't, however. That's why the laws are there. I personally, don't think love has an age... but it'd be hard to keep loving him if he's in prison :(

If you both engage in a sexually relationship it will become illegal in most of not all states. Wait!!! You have many more years to fall in love and be with someone. smiles***

Yes, the years aren't the problem, it's the ages.

A little creepy, you have to wonder why he can't get an 18 year old girlfriend. He may be super immature...be careful.

Not really, just be careful with him when he is over 18, no sexual stuff. In reality, it's rather common for couples to be many years apart. My wife is 6 years older than my self, if I her and I stayed the same but in our younger selves. Well, when she was 18, I was 12, so I can't say it's wrong.

Well, it depends on where you are from! Age difference, there is NO problem because 2-6 years different is average, but at a younger age it does make a difference due to maturity level even though guys at that age are close to yours. Just wait for any sexual activity until you are at least older because most guys, once they take you, they will leave you and then you will loss your childhood and became a parent with NO help from 'daddy'. So Have fun but stay safe!
