Certainly, each appeals to a higher authority to achieve it's ends. And each employes an "evangelical" rhetoric to motivate it's followers. While they may not say so openly, the message is clear, as it has always been.... "God is on our side!"<br />

both are essentially means of control, both are essentially for the betterment of the masses they stand for, both have a figurehead or some group of people who dictate what is right and wrong, both gain power on the emotions and morals of the masses, idk really these are only some of the things i can think of i can still be wrong but they both seem pretty similar to me

I will say yes, because who ever invented religion ensured its implementation into politics. I mean why else would the importance of politicians religious backgrounds be a factor in voting for them? They're going against the separation of church and state because for some reason people thought Religion and Politics went hand in hand. You know because Hot Shot politician believes in jesus, so naturally hes a good man! LOL, give me a break...
