Bigotry is a many petal-ed flower,with an almost infinite lust to expand. As a simple example,people of the same nationality,speaking the same language may be bigoted against those that they perceive as having an acccent..discrimination is seen in gender,"class",etc. Do you remember the famous "blue eyes/brown eyes" experiment done quite some time ago? Very revealing....

Race as we understand it today is a pretty new concept - it's sort of a result of the slave trade. But we've been 'othering' people since the dawn of time. So sure, makes sense.
