YES!!! Certifications show potential employers that you've taken it upon yourself to sit for a test and show how great you really are. Most networking jobs require at least Net+ and the CCNA. There are a million resources for free on the internet if you'd like to train. I passed the Net+ in April and am scheduled to take the CCNA in August. YouTube has hundreds of channels of people teaching the basics and you can pick a book up from Amazon for $30. Highly, highly, highly recommend it as it has done WONDERS for my career. I did help desk for 5 years while going to college and once I'm certified I'll be fully qualified to take on the Network Tech job at my place of employment. That's going to take me from $42k/yr to $60k/yr salary.
