it basically comes down to quality of life.
Nothing selfish about it. I hate when people associate "feeling so sad you don't want to live" with "selfishness" but what they do mean it is often the case, they leave behind their loved ones feeling very hurt by their death. I think life is worthwhile. Suicide is a permanent solution to only a temporary problem. There's much in life to experience and those are the things that can really make a life turn around and make it worth while.

No. Unless they're directly responsible for caring for someone. People do not have an obligation to stay for the happiness of others. That said, I feel they should live for others AND themselves.
Yes because there are people who are affected by this that they may not even know about. Not only is it selfish it's naive.
