I dunno if its specific to gender but I have two children and love them both dearly but they are each unique... one is a son and one is a daughter but I am proud of them both...

it is very different...I am much harder on my daughter, and my husband is harder on our sons...My sons get away with murder with me, and my daughter gets away with murder with dad... There's just a different "click"

I think the strength is the same, but different. AND it depends on the father. My Uncle has a son, and two older daughters, who can't seem to do anything right. The son is gold. I am an only child, a female, never really connecting with my mother my father and I have a relationship, I measure all others up to, knowing no other could come close to.
