assuming we humans don't force our own destruction by nuking ourselves into oblivion or something, the most immediate natural end to planet earth will be the death of our sun (we have a couple BILLION years until that happens). i don't think getting hit by a giant asteroid is a grave threat with modern technology - we could track and probably deflect any large incoming ob

Assuming you are talking about a "black hole", I think you really cannot know. People have found black holes in our galaxy so this is a possibility. However whether we face that threat or not, once the sun dies in 4.5billion years, earth will surely die.
