It will help you understand yourself better.. it helps you to look inside yourself and see areas you need to work on and give you the needed guidance and encouragement to make positive changes. You may have the wrong idea of what therapy is about ba<x>sed on what **** is supposed to mean. If being empathized with and given full permission to be yourself all the time and talking about whatever you feel like talking about without shame or guilt or judgement sounds like a bad thing- you should stay far away from therapy

Counseling is fine until you get in the car, drive to the first stop sign and realize your reality still exists. Now if you could carry your therapist in your back pocket all the time, that might be a much better scenario - but would be very costly!
