Defeminizing? hmmm never thought about that one .. and hahahaha JCriss :)
Because anything to do with female is negative when associated to a male, in our culture.
There isn't and needs to be.<br />
Therefore I hereby coin such a word:<br />
Since emasculation in the literal sense of the word is to cut off the male genitals...well, the female genitals are rather harder to get at.<br />
So perhaps removal of the chest appendages would be a rough equal?<br />
So if you have your ego crushed, your autonomy challenged, belittled and infantilized as a woman, you can now say:<br />
"I feel really emammarated."<br />
Edited to add: you see, being "defeminized"usually means becoming masculine-looking, looking androgynous or male even though female.<br />
So there really does need to be a word.
Yep. emammarating doesn't work because, whether you want to accept it or not, men have breasts also. Men get breast cancer, as well as women.
So, yeah, we need a real word. It's like the words "sexual harassment" weren't really used until men started getting sexually harassed by their female superiors. Prior to that, for women being harassed, it was just called life.
Do you mean a) a word that defines a female feeling emasculated or b) a word that defines a female feeling de-feminized?<br />
I just had this conversation with my male boss, actually--I jokingly accused him of emasculating me (and I'm female--I contend that females can and do feel emasculated). He thought my word choice was peculiar, but neither of us could think of a better word.
I don't know of a word, but it may have to do with their credit cards being cut off.
it would be simply: "masculating"
