Is there a movie that you dislike, in a way, but also appreciate it for its quality of plot and other things?

For me, that movie is The Number 23. I hate horror movies, and there is way too much blood and death and morbidity in this movie for my liking; yet, it is one of the most well plotted out movies, with ironic twists and everything, that I have ever seen, so I can really appreciate the movie for that. The end really grabs ya too. I even kind of want to watch it again (when I'm ready for a horror sort of movie again) just because it's so well thought out!

The Killing Fields

It upset me terribly, but was brilliantly told and photographed.
It was gruesome in what it DIDN'T show...brilliant editing

Being revealed at the end that it was a true story, made me ill.

Recently, Bruce Willis's Tears of the Sun had the same effect for again the same reasons....chilling because it was 30 years after vietnam, and the same stuff was happening in Nigeria....again a true story, makes it all the more horrific.

The Dark Knight. I thought it was really really creepy. I can't deny the brilliance of Heath Ledger's acting, though.

"Leaving Las Vegas". It's brilliant, but watching the protaganists' downward spiral was physically painful for me.
