Walmart. They don't treat their employees very well either.

Home Depot and Office Depot hands down.

These places hire teenagers and ex-cons that don't know their a$$hole from their earhole.

I am not crazy about Walmart and really try not to go there at all.

I also try to steer clear of any store with self checkout. Grocery, home improvement, anything...I was a cashier for many years during high school & beginning of college, and I made decent money for that type of work (considering). I think it's totally horrible that the automated self checkout takes away paying jobs and also puts a bigger burden on the customer. I will pay a little more to have a friendly employee check me out.

Quality wise, I REFUSE to shop at Cato or Fashion Bug. A lot of their clothes are hideously ugly, but even the nicer looking stuff is shoddily made and does not launder well. I often go by "price per wear" and if I pay $16 for a shirt I can only wear once before it falls apart in the wash...that's FAR more expensive than paying $50 for a shirt I'll wear twice a month for 4 years.

I refuse to use a self-checkout and have told that to cashiers who offered to show me how to use one rather than wait in line, I am offended by it and will find another store if it boils down to all self-checks. Haven't had a problem with what I bought at Cato, most of the things launder up well but to be honest most of their clothing they sell these days looks better on the hanger as far as I'm concerned, short shirts and sleeves way too short for example.

Why Kohl's? Customer service or the merchandise?
