Is there adult daycare? How do people who take care of their disabled loved ones have a career?

I know loved ones can be caregivers, but I mean what if the caregivers want to have a career and not JUST be a caregiver. Like during the day someone else takes care of them but they live in the same house and take care of them when they are not at work.
