    I have to wear my glasses all the time because my vision is terrible and I can't see anything without them unless I'm right up close -- I'm very near-sighted. I'd never wear them if I didn't absolutely have to, and that's why it just seems so ridiculous to me, to wear glasses as part of a fashion statement. But then again, people do a lot of ridiculous things in the name of fashion which I find utterly incomprehensible. To answer your question, no, there aren't any negative effects from wearing fake glasses...that I know of, at least.

    If someone wants to look a gonk then why stop there? Wear the ones with a fake nose and the plastic moustache. At least that way you give people a laugh other than the one theyre doing behind your back.

    You will be considered having defective eyesight (because they may not know you are wearing for style).
