Is using a virtual chat a sin ?

I'm 15 and I really like virtual chats like IMVU. I don't really know why because I have friends and I hangout but when I come in the house I get on it. It may sound dumb asking this question but it is really important to me that I please God with my life. I'm not really sure if the bible says anything that relates to this but it confuses me because its something my mom doesn't know I get on. Thanks in advance to everyone who comments.

So long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else, you're not doing anything wrong. Just stay away from weirdos.

It isn't how/where you chat, it is who you chat with and what you chat about.

Ok because I belong to that and I have guys asking me all the time to send naked pictures or sexting. I end up ignoring everybody on there. I go on and just chat nothing else, nothing sexual, but every guy turns it into sex. I mainly talk to other females on there, kiving the same lifestyle as me.

Aren't you supposed to be able to communicate with God? I would have though reading the bible would be extremely important to someone who seriously believes it was inspired by the creator of everything, too. You know, since you risk getting tortured forever o_O

For your information, not getting it right in this life doesn't mean you'll get tortured for eternity. If you're following the Bible, you'll know that "the wages of sin is death.", NOT damnation. And if you'll look in revelation you'll find that the opportunity for salvation occurs two more times when we're far better informed than this life allows us to be. Actually, only a very few "hopeless cases" will accompany Satan and the False Prophet to the lake of fire. But be careful of how you spend your time now. Is being on line the best thing you can do with it? I'm not judging here, just asking questions you might ask yourself. God loves you too much to let you be condemned without putting up a real fight. Be grateful for that by measureing your activity and decide how best to spend your life.. Love Noelle

Stop relying on others to tell you what is or what is not a sin and how to please God. Think for yourself.

Maybe you could use virtual chat to talk with like-minded Christians such as yourself. Don't talk to adults. Never give out personal info, such as your last name, phone number, city where you live, school, etc.

Talking to friends your age is fine I would think. Just don't chat with adults and don't do anything inappropriate.

I hope you enjoy this as much as i do. The Bible actually does mention electronic chat :o) actually God mentions it himself when he talks to Job and God does not imply that it is wrong. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Job 38: "35Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?"
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
God predicted electronic communication as early as Job :o) to show Job how little he knows of the world. Just apply God's laws to your chats and all is good. be safe :o)
