Resolved Question

Isn't it annoying when someone spells something wrong?

I'll admit.... I do spell words wrong, but rarely. When you post a question please check your spelling is all I ask. haha

We all have our standards for spelling, but people must realise that good spelling is the key to good jobs. One of the first things that employers mark your resume on is your ability to spell.
If your spelling is of a sloppy standard, your chance of securing a good job are minimal. Oh ! well, there's always a labouring job that you can apply for, along with the other 200 applicants.

Yes. I am also a fan of grammar, and I find myself somewhat irked by the fact that you used the word "wrong" instead of "incorrectly".

The occasional error is no big deal. It's the mother- #$#@% "texting style" that whips me into a frenzy!

it used to bug me a lot. i was a good speller once. in fact, i was pretty snobby about it. then, 3 1/2 years ago i sustained a traumatic brain injury. my spelling and grammar have become mediocre, along with my vocabulary due to loack of oxygen to my brain. i write words like "know" for "no", "there" for "their", etc..
now, someone elses bad spelling doesn't bother me at all.

No, it doesn't bother me at all. Neither does poor grammar. I'm interested in the content, not the presentation...

I'm annoyed that I leave words out...I don't feel any need to correct others.

I've noticed the younger generation can't spell very well. I'm 44 and went to a Catholic school, so they emphasized it alot more. It used to bother me, but now I just go with it

Yes, it bugs me, too. And I'm not even from here. After 12 years in the US I did learn the language and how to spell words. Well, I guess not everybody is good at it, and many may suffer learning disabilities. But it's a matter of education, too. I have noticed the trend of spelling worse by the younger generation as well.

No not really I could care less if it's in a chat room or something. If it's a book or something that's pathetic.

I hate it when I accidentally click send before I detect an error of my own, because I know people judge one's intellect by their written word.

Yes it's annoying but I don't think you can really judge someone on that. Some people are very self congest about that. I have a friend who is dyslexic and cannot spell very well and when someone points it out in a bad way she's almost crying.
