Yes. I believe so. And, sometimes if one person felt and the other didn't feel the same way, and they end it, it was not really a relation to begin with.

1) That is an incorrect use of irony
2) If it takes 2 to be a couple, obviously 1 pulling out would end it, as then they wouldn't have the required numbers to continue the couple.
