Isn't it time that the Catholic Church was outlawed as a criminal organisation?

A plethora of paedophilic priests, abusive nuns that ran Magdalene Schools and childrens homes. Countless wars, witch burnings and persecution of so-called heretics, genocide of other races of people (American Indians).

I think the whole institution should be stopped now.

But, what would replace it? Something better or worse?

How absurd and childish. It's NOT time for the catholic church to be outlawed. No. It's actually wayyyyyy overdue.

No! I disagree with you on this one...!

Protestants are responsible for most of the worlds genocide and no one has busted them. So don't give me that catholic sh!t....Just prosecute the pedophiles of any religion, then leave it alone!

It was Protestant Anglo church and government that committed genocide on my ancestors

I agree about the protestants. But I have no time for the Catholic institution that hides abuse and moves priests from parish to parish. I think it is disgusting. What a filthy religion that is (Pro or Catholic).

These same sins are committed outside the Catholic Church. The only thing in common is that they are all committed by humans. To completely get rid of all these things we would have to outlaw humans. That's not going to happen. I do believe that eventually all of the churches will disappear and what replaces them will be white hot hate.

Yeah I get your point. I don't know if the abusers were already like that and they became priests to abuse others. Or the enforced celibacy brought out the abuse (probably both). Either way, the church(es) stink of hypocrisy.

I really have a problem with the forced celibacy. In my own opinion I think it leads to too much temptation. Those who hurt children are the wolves in sheep's clothing we were warned about. They appear anywhere you find the innocent and defenseless.

They also tried, during the Inquistion, to wipe out Jews. They are not the healthiest group of people on this earth. I am not Catholic, but I have read how evil they treated the Native Americans when they came ashore here in the States and were bringing "salvation" to the heathen. Were I to be the one to decide what happens to the Catholic Church, I'd think long and hard about letting it continiue in it's condition as it is today.

Likewise. I am not sure it is best to continue, but a lot of people are still focused on it as a religion and seem content to continue along that path. And even protestants have broken off from the Church of England to join it.

Absolutely not. And you have been incredibly biased.
As well all you have said, you have conveniently ignored all the good they have done. Without the Catholic Church, many thousands of poor children would have never gone to school in England. In Ireland, Churches provided home, help and an education for more than they abused by far. Without the Catholic Church we would not have "annulment" which allows people being abused by their partner in marriage to not have to hold to original vows of the marriage and to escape the relationship.
Every year, more than 9.5 million Americans in need turn to one of 1,400 charitable organizations run by the Catholic Church. These Catholic charities offer an enormous range of services at minimal cost, or no cost, to those being served.
The Church runs more than 600,000 soup kitchens and stocks more than 2 million food banks and pantries.

Freedom of religion and belief also contradicts you. Why not outlaw Islam for their extremists? Why not outlaw children's programs and the BBC due to workers on them being proven pedophiles? I'm Agnostic Athiest, but I'm not going to sit here and let you be ignorant to your own bullshit, and skewed view you have that only comes from mainstream media - which consequently happens to encourage liberalism and athiesm...causing hate to institutions that stand against what mainstream media is all about (such as lots of sex, which the Church doesn't allow before marriage).

I wonder, if we added the good done by the institution you ironically seem to support (how can you be an Anarchist and support the Catholic institutions?), to the amount of evil done by the same institution where would we be? I really doubt that the Catholic church will have come down on the side of good. So, setting aside your accusations that I watch mainstream media to get my information! lol... // A few examples: Taking the genocide of Native American continent, followed by the enforced education and civilisation of the inhabitants as one topic. // I am wondering if all those that have benefited so much from education are as grateful as you assume they should be? On a societal level we are certainly told we should be grateful. We read and write, we know when to obey teacher/boss. Our towns are like cages protecting us from one another, and our minds are equally caged so we can be good little worker bees in the big society that the Catholic Church helped to promote while taking VERY BIG pieces of the cake! And in this context yeah, the churches set up soup kitchens and charities. But don’t these are in the context of a society that has been moulded for 1500+ years by the churches. Is it very Christian that suddenly they are doing this? No. They have done this for years, pilgrim hospitals can be found throughout Britain. But of course, each pilgrimage site has a little donation box as it has had for centuries. // As seems typical, when anyone asks one question, other (valid) questions are included in some answers. Maybe I will ask about Islam some time. But as I am English, Catholicism has had a far more overt affect on my experience of life than Islam has (not to negate Islam the contributions it has made to the state of the world). //Ban extremists. Why? // Being where you live, I assume you know there are already active oppositions groups to the BBC and have been for years. I think it should be closed down and the publics money should go back to the public. But this question isn't about the liars and paedos at the BBC. // As far as I can see, If you are regarding yourself as enlightened, then you haven't yet seen the deep brainwashing that you have undergone. It's hard to see. It took me years to wake up. Nowadays we still assume all education is always good isn't it? Schools are so great and beneficial. Reading and writing are a reflection of a person that is much more advanced than an illiterate primitive (I hope you are sensing my irony :). // But as you believe I only watch the mainstream media, I wouldn't even question these accepted attitudes would I? // Surely, to return to my initial thoughts, the existence of hundreds or thousands of charities run by the Catholic church (presumably most are actually run by volunteers), it is in the context of a society that has been moulded by institutions such as the Catholic Church. And would they behave as they do now, if they didn't have to? // There is nothing wrong with hating something. It can be positive and it looks to me that you hate the question I posed, or the manner of my words... // Hopefully the use of the backslash will help make this easier to read should you return to this topic. (I tried a few times to post my reply with a paragraph, but it doesn't work! Gods wrath on me perhaps?! lol)

Its uncool how they hide these sexual violences.

But people have religious rights, and it wouldnt be right to outlaw every Catholic church.
