I thoroughly agree with zeina60 - "A funeral is not all doom and gloom but often the Celebration of Life". In fact, when my Mother died (in her 70s) ten years ago I wrote a booklet about her life and in it said that I hoped the Funeral woiuld not be a mourning, but a celebration of her life - and so it proved.
However, very recently the 30-year-old son of a friend died suddenly of a heart attack, leaving his partner (4 months pregnant and with a 3-year-old daughter). It's got to be said that there was no vause for any 'celebration' on that occasion - so there are times when there is no FUN in a funeral. As my friend said, no mother should have to bury her child.

Yes and I feel I know where you are coming from

However peoples sensitivities differ and burying a child may be one of the times where humour would probably inappropriate.
When my elder brother died at 43 we definitelty able to inject a sense of humour without any loss of dignity!
