It seems as though there are sooo many different kinds of love ; how can you distinguish?

Other than the kind you feel for your family- there seem to be endless variations of feelings of love to the point where often we can't tell what it is. This is important because it affects our psychology as well as all relationships. What if theres a strange attraction to someone and its not platonic, nor is it sexual or romantic? (for instnce)?if you cannot identify feelings?

I don't distinguish between types of love. Love is just love to me. I think that what a lot of people distinguish as different types of love, is just love plus one more other emotions.

Love is not what is really the most important. When we look outside of familial love, we usually get into the realm of lust. The most important thing is "like". Why? Because what is termed romantic love is a biochemical attraction, which scientists have proven only lasts about 2 years. Once that disappears, then the "like" part comes in. You may lust for someone, but not really like him/her. If you like someone as a friend first and really discover what s/he is all about, then you have something you can build a relationship on. At least, in my opinion.
