Go to a mechanic this time, so that you know what it means the next time the oil light comes on...
But if your engine is making a loud knocking noise? OR if you look at the oil on the dipstick and see glittery bits?
Have it towed, do not crank it.
Change the oil or drive it to the nearest scrap yard!
All lights on your dashboard are called stupid lights (the real name) they light up to give you a message. The oil is time for your oil change along with filter change maybe. While there, have them verify all liquids as breaks, transmission, etc
possibly a blown engine head, or you have too much oil in the motor. if it's too much oil, then you need to drain some out before you blow the seals. if it's a cracked head, then you need to go to a mechanic and get it replaced.
Cars do that when they overheat, just before you blow the heads.
You can remove the light bulb and you won't have an oil light.
if its a newish car. its the computer. right or wrong wants a oil change.. mechenic will reset the dash light.. its a trap to make you spend cash at a mechenic instead of do uit yourself.. do it yourself regular, and ignor the light .. i would
Low oil pressure ! Faulty oil sender switch, have your mechanic check it out pronto !
