If you are laying in bed getting frustrated because you can't sleep it will only make it worse. Get out of bed, do something really quiet for 15-20 mins and then lay down and try it again. Stay away from electronics like tv, computer, phone because they stimulate the brain making it more difficult to go to sleep.

Read something like a schoolbook or something that Always makes me very sleepy
make sure all your lights are off and if you need to decrease the temperature in your room.
