I have tried Cymbalta twice now.
The first time the dose was too high and it made me feel terrrible. (Dizzy, sick to my stomach, couldn't sleep). This last time I tried 30mg per day and it gave me headaches that wouldn't stop.
Wishing you the best of luck.

I take Cymbalta 60 mg and it works really good for me. I also take 5 mgs of Xanax 3 times a day. I didn't really have side effects. I take the Cymbalta in the morning so it doesn't keep me up. It takes a few weeks for the full benefits of Cymbalta to work, at least that's what they told me. The good thing about Cymbalta is that it also works on pain a little. For instance when you get really tense and it will make your back hurt (saw it on a commercial) and Cymbalta works to block the emotional pain that can be caused by extreme stress or instability in your life.

I should be a walking zombie because I also take 65 mg of Methadone a day for my pain. Having Chronic Pain normally goes along with depression and anxiety. It's really hard for them to come up with the right medication cocktail to deal with my health. I am at a point now where I don't have to go to the doctor every 2 weeks like it used to be.

I hope that you find a anti-depressant that works for you. Give Cymbalta a chance it worked for me. It's the waiting for it to build up in your system that is hard but most of the anti-depressants are like that.

I'm also on Cymbalta 60mg and take it in the morning. I did have an on going headache that went away. It's good for my depression, but also helps with my chronic pain, just as STONEBULLDOG mentioned. I wondwe if your Dr. could give you something just to get through the side
effects I think Cymbalta is worth it..

than that. i changed to wellbutrin and it works good for me. no zombie. it is different for every person. how have you felt this week you have been on it? if it is working, then great. if it is giving you side effects, then change again. there has to one that will work for you.

I've been on 60mg of Cymbalta for over a year now. I have to take it in the evenings before bed because it tends to make me sleepy. The only side effects I have are sweating like dogsareus mentioned above. I was always cold prior to taking Cymbalta, so the sweating thing means I am not getting the shivers as often. It's also supposed to suppress the appetite for some people, but I haven't been one of the lucky ones where this has happened to me. lol
You might want to try taking it at bedtime to see if that helps with the headaches during the day. If you have only been on it a week, give it much more time. The headaches will ease up once your body becomes adjusted to it.

I was on it for a year or so. Stay with it for at least 1-2 months. It can really help! I've been on EVERY anti-depressant & several othre meds for OCD & anxiety. They work for awhile, then they don't & it's time to change meds again.

Don't give up! Some are better than others & everyone reacts differently to them. Keep your Dr. informed of any side effects.

God bless!

Ive been on anti depressant since I was 15 now 39 years old. Cymbalta helps with muscle and body pains as well as depresstipn. It wrks with the chemical reseptors in your brain. I have beeen on it for 3 1.2 years now. Its a life saver for me. I still have womanly urges. and have less pain then normal. I take 120mg QD. Let me know if this helps. Sleven
