Does anyone who isn't from the US enjoy John Steinbeck?

I live in the UK. At secondary school, Of Mice And Men was one of the books we read in the English class as part of the curriculum. It's such a tragic story, but I enjoyed reading it and it's one of the few books that I still remember from schooldays
