Well, as I understand it the Amish would not be allowed to use computers unless they left the Amish communities in which case they would no longer, strictly speaking, be Amish. <br />

In terms of Mennonites, it would depend on what sort of Mennonite you are talking about because there are a whole range. The old order Mennonites shouldn't be on this site because they are only allowed to use technology in relation to their business - all other technology is prohibited, so if they had a computer they shouldn't be using it for this. Now they don't always follow this rule - they are very hypocritical (I have seen some of their young children with personal cell phones and there is no way that can be justified under "business"). <br />

However there are more modern Mennonites who may have computers and other technology for personal use. These Mennonites do not necessarily live on farms, may have cars, etc. Some rather modern Mennonites live next door to me and to my knowledge they have all the same modern technology that we do in our home.

very well put, for the Amish i think during there (Rumspringa) i am sure they are and do use computers, dress as english i think this can last 1 yr then they have to decide to continue with the Amish life or be Shunned possibly for life.

I'm Mennonite by birth and by choice. I drive a car, have a computer, cell phone... tattoos, piercings... a Master's Degree... married with children...<br />
