Just wondering, does anybody do macrame any more?

Was taking about tatting lace with someone and it reminded me that I always wondered if you could use a lace pattern for macrame, which made me realize i hadn't seen any macrame in years and years.

Is This A Good Question? (4)

Friendship bracelets are often macrame. I am wearing one now. They are selling them at Wal-Mart, I just saw some the other day, but I bought 4 @ 1.99 each at the souvenir store last month when nephew visited from out of state.

I've always wanted to learn! My mom had macrame hanging pot holders, a toothbrush holder, and a cool macrame owl on the wall in the living room. all bought, not made though.

It used to be all over the place, back in the 1970s I guess, but I haven't seen it in years. Could be very intricate and pretty,

Using light robe to weave decorative patterns. You can make a wall hanging, or plant hangers, or whatever.
