I don't use the confession area but I think people who do just want to unburden themselves and be sure that it is no one can trace it back to them based on their profile which could possibly identify them.

because if they are having a problem and don't want others to know about it, they come here to vent i do it i don't want it to be known who i am :) i might have my xes or family on here this is the only place I can be myself.

Not everyone is anonymous here, I'm not. I've got friends here, I've met people face to face from here and yet, I would like some things to remain private but still need to get feedback on or just get it off
    my chest.
It always surprises me how the fact that people confess anonymously seems to bother so many people.

Hehe...I know, I've read plenty of juicy anonymous confessions myself and been a little curious to know who it could be...but NOT enough that it bothers me....lol

I use the same username on almost every single social networking website [to make it easier for me to remember it] so my friends and family in real life might easily find me if they find out my username haha

We don't always remain completely anonymous. I have posted my pictures before and my ep friends know my real name so, if I still want to get something out of my chest but I don't want people to know or to react to it, then I would post anonymously.

it maybe something the person just needed to share but is embarrassing for them and things on the internet aren't as anonymous as we think
