1) There are some loan centres that help people specifically with bad credit. Of course, the problem with these is that they will need you to offer something as collateral and their interest rate will be unreasonably high.

In my experience, your credit score effects your interest rate, and bad credit is better than no credit. If you are deemed too high of a risk for banks (no joke intended if you are from the US), then the little credit unions will lend. They usually loan at a high rate and lock you into a set time to pay interest before you can pay it off without being penalized. There are also payday loans, but they need to contact your employer as the payment on your loan comes directly off your pay cheque. One (fabulous treat the employee great) company I worked for would rather loan employees the money and charge you the interest they were charged through their bank, and take the money owed came off you pay cheque - a much lower than usual rate.
