Because communication has broken down in the relationship, and they are too lame/weak to either talk or break up.

I'm a woman, I'm married and I've cheated. In marriage you get in a rut. You know when and where you are going to have sex. You know what comes next in almost almost everything in your life. I love my husband and don't want to lose him.
I cheated because it added excitement and change to my life. And even the danger was a turn on. All women want to feel wanted sexualy. Ever woman wants to feel other men want them sexualy. Sex in marriage isn't the same as sex in an affair. The men may not be able to understand this bet even the women that has never cheated will understand me, I believe.

I've found that every one will give a different reason but most people say because they found something missing in their relationship. Most of the time it's sex and some of the times it's communication..... But it depends on the couple.

because marriage becomes boring for them; their partner is not fun.
interests clashes; they don't have the same interests as they though they did.
they don't get a lot of attention from their partners.
their partner may be selfish in bed.

Because we are animals. Just because our brains have developed doesn't make us infallible. Unique...yes, infallible..obviously not. The purpose of life is to create, that is primal. The emotions and logic we need to succeed as a species conflicts with our primal nature. Most of us use our minds to deal with these in ways that are moral and/or ethical, some cannot. These, and similar conflicts, are the price we pay for being the dominant species....so far. We have a long way to go.

They believe the grass is greener? Because relationships can be difficult and it's easier to cheat and then get to experience that "honeymoon period" of a new relationship again than to work at the existing one? Aside from this all sorts of reasons inlcuding those named by others posting here...

It all boils down to the fact they do not to have sex with their spouse for some reason.

Why?

Just compare the before marriage sex and after say 10 years of marriage.

Do you still keep your body clean? Are your genitals kept keep clean and order free? No laughs but that is a major mood killer for a man.

The female is sometimes not as aggressive as before.

Do you take as much pride in your body as before?

Do you care that he/she may be turned off by all that extra weight?

Do you still flirt with him/her?

Has the thrill of spontaneity disappeared?

Is the bed room cleaned and used only for sex and sleeping?

Is it a romantic place?

Because they want to .....

It can be several reasons:
They lack sex in the relationship.
They want to try different sexual things that they can not in their relationship.
They are no longer in love with their partner (though they may still love them).
They want the attention they receive from someone else.
Because it's not natural to have sex with only one person for a long periode of time.

I used to have very strong opinions on this subject and thought harshly of anyone who cheated . . . now I'm in a difficult position. My husband was in an accident 2 years ago that affected him mentally and he constantly pushes me away and acts very strangely.

I'm engaging in an emotional affair with a man and wonder if/when we'll take the next step to a physical affair. I love my husband, but I really miss him, and I understand I'm looking for a substitute for what I used to have. :(
