There's no "cure", other than removing your uterus or bringing on menopause.

I get bad cramps, so I take a cocktail of codiene and naproxen (synflex). Heat pads or hot water bottles help to take some of the edge off. Believe it or not, exercise in the lead-up to my period can help too. Calcium supplements also relieve muscle cramping to some degree.

If you get bad cramps, you may want to get checked for Endometriosis (which are abnormal growths of endometrial tissue outside the uterus). It's important to investigate this posibility, because Endo is sometimes linked to infertility and other medical problems. The only treatment for Endo is surgery - and even then the relief is temporary. It will grow back.

In answer to IndyJoe - ******* only give a mild and temporary relief to cramps, and sex is usually the last thing I feel like doing at the time!

I don't have bad cramps but for the mild ones I get I usually fill up a 2 litre pop bottle with hot water (the plastic bottle lets more heat out than a real hot water bottle does) then take a nap with it on my belly or between my legs. When I wake up the discomfort is usually gone.

I am not a woman (obviously), but I was reading something once that said a good relief is ******. Seriously....it said that studies have shown that women who have ******* have alot less to no cramping. Clitoral ************ may be something to consider.

I must admit, I never had very serious menstrual cramps, but when I feel bad or uncomfortable in 'those days', I take a long hot shower... or sit on my comfy-chair, legs higher than butt and just relax. But I don't cry, whine or moan.

:)

Heating pad seem to work best for me with Tylenol.
I found that the older you get, it will subside. Best of luck to you ! :-)

Lie down, put a hot water bottle on my abdomen, take pain-killers, eat chocolate. It doesn't 'cute' them, but it helps make me feel better.

I started doing yoga & for the first time in my life cramps, moodiness, bloating, etc... are all non-existant! I was amazed how well (& how unexpected) just doing various postures and stretches could help. I suggest all ladies with bad pms try yoga now!
