Ladies, if your guy cheated on you would you give him another chance?

My husband never cheated physically (that I am aware of)...but, he did have many online flings, and one woman, he actually drove 4 hours to meet....Didn't like her, once he saw her, apparently (even though he spent HOURS on the phone, and chatting online with her)....so, it never turned physical..

I still call this cheating.....because his heart wasn't in the right place...I forgave him, as I would anyone, because unforgiveness is poison in my body....but, I never forgot....and it changed our relationship forever.....I'm not with him, anymore. How can you stay with someone with whom you cannot trust?

I think that if he is truly sorry and it was an isolated incident it is good to forgive but the trust in the relationship will never be the same. I forgave my x husband for his indiscrestions but then he continued to cheat so I had to end the relationship but I gave him the one time to see if he could redeem himself and he couldn't. But understand that it can be really hard for men to stay loyal with all of the temptation out there.

My husband cheated on me and I have given him another chance. I did let him know that if he EVER did anything remotely like it again that I was gone. He had a choice and he made a terrible one. Hopefully he learned from his mistake.

I use to think that I would without a second guess or look back. But to be honest with MYSELF I can't say that I wouldn't give him another chance. It does depend. I take my marital vows very seriously. As I know we are all human and make mistakes. Depends on the details of that mistake for me!

I agree with unicorn and melbournebabe totally. A person can try to forgive but they can never forget and this changes things forever. I could never, ever trust them again PERIOD! I might be able to stay for a while but it would be miserable for both of us- due to the total lack of trust.

If he showed sincere remorse, I think so...

i wish i could say i would be forgiving and think that maybe the relationship would become stronger and all that other positive stuff, but, i know i couldnt give him another chance. i'd never be able to forget what he had done, id think about it all the time and the trust would be gone completely. too much energy would be wasted in second guessing everything he said and did. if you cheat on me, then obvioulsy i am not enough for you and you need to move on and find someone you will be faithfull to and let me find someone who will treat me with respect, and love me the way you obviously never did. however hard and heart breaking it would be for me, i would have to end it.

I was about to give you a plain NO.

Then I pictured the one I love and imagined having to send him away because he hurt me. That would mean I would lose him forever. I don't think I could bear that.

So maybe I would forgive him eventually... if it were possible for me to imagine that he would do that to me.
