Land lord out of control? (Recent letter issued in details)

Dear Residents:

Unfortunately we are starting to get over run with stray cats and the numerous requests made to please not feed them have not worked.

So this has given us no choice but to start imposing a $25.00 fine to anyone found to be putting out food for the strays.

As hard as it is especially during the winter months we must refrain from putting food out and this will help force them to spread out to find another food source elsewhere.

Sincerely,
Management

Feral cats are a problem in many places. Its the cats, not the landlord who are out of control.

Fining for feeding feral cats, though? Fining an act of kindness towards life sounds inherently evil to me. The person who wrote this has a much nicer car than me.

Feeding feral cats encourages breeding more feral cats and results in more starving feral cats. It is not a kindness to cause more suffering. If you care about the feral cats, trap them and turn them over to animal rescue who can have them neutered and adopted.

It's practical but heartless. Why not just get a gun & start shooting the stray's. : (

It looks like they intend to make money off the strays. If they shot them they could not soak the upper lower and lower middle class residents for more "rent" in stray cat fees.

Make money how ? I was using sarcasm .....I feel horrible for any animal who must live through the cold of winter or heat of summer unprotected and left to rummage.

I got this letter before actually, so I just decided to feed them off the premises but still where they could find it.We had a abandon factory yard behind the complex so I fed them over there.I felt horrible though, one kitten did not make it,'cause of it.So,I wish complexes would just catch them and do the humane thing instead of making them suffer.

So you feel the complex should just kill the cats?
