The sounds I hear at night when all is quiet, is different than what most normal people hear, as I was in an accident, which caused a brain injury plus other serious unrelated injuries.

I hear noises now, differently than before. During the quiet, my hearing distorts the normal sounds, not only of the natural ambient sounds such as the Refrigerator running, or the little heater and fan running in the bedroom, or the Hummm of the charge converter, including the buzzing or air rushing noise we normally hear which is called the sounds of silence. All of these things I hear differently, now.

When I first awoke from a coma, after Surgery, these sounds were deafening. The noise was like a Freight Train in my head honking it's horn and Engines at full throttle. There was clanging and crashing, and squealing going on and I could not hear anyone talking to me, at all. And, this noise, was driving me crazy. Of course, I went into a Stark Raving Panic and they put me back to sleep and slowly brought me back to consciousness, in stages till I could realize what was going on.

Now, after 23 years, When I am relaxed, in a quiet room, or I go into the Forest and string up a Hammock, late at night, and the gentle Breeze blowing through the Pines and Acacia's, Pin Oak, and Cedar Trees, give up this beautiful Sigh which whines a tune from my "Symphony of Angels". One might say, this injury gave me a piece of Heaven.

Which causes me to admire the Deaf people. I wonder what they really hear. I bet it is those same sounds.
