    Yes, it can. I would also capitalize Grandpa here as it is being used as Grandpa's title. In addition, a space after each comma would not go amiss. ;)

    Yes, true punctuation is very important, unfortunately even I don't always get it right, for me grammar is not a problem but punctuation is. I learn with my students on this point. But it is true, just one comma in the wrong place can give a sentence a completely different meaning.

    Almost as important is capital letters.
    The difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off his horse" and "helping your uncle jack off his horse" could be fairly significant.
