    In france it is considered elegant and necessary,as long as the wife gets more jewels etc. Update: FYI. a mistress is not a prostitute. And the correct term for the outdated word 'prostitute " is now "recreational sex worker"

    Caithness, I'm shocked. Mistresses' are not prostitutes. And the socially acceptable term for prostitute is " recreational sex worker."
