Looking at buying a cheap car, what do I look for that would mean it's not going to run long?

Ex- I drive it off the lot- it breaks

    Just take notice to how clean it is. If the interior doesn't look stained and beat up or the outside isn't dented and scratched up, its usually a good indicator that it's been taken care of. Check to see of it has maintenance records or maintenance stickers somewhere under the hood. Look for excessive fluid leaks under it or around the engine. Make sure it doesn't smoke.

    you can if you want lol, I'm about to go buy a piece of **** car and I'm nervous... All I know is duct tape shouldn't be used anywhere on in or underneath the car. Brakes should sound good and responsive... there shouldn't be any rattling and the vehicle shouldn't bounce etc
