Your political posts smack of Harry Reed's accusations without providing any proof. I think it's called rumor mongering. Whatever it is, it sounds desperate to me.

They want the ability to shut down the internet, which is not the same as shutting down the internet. Planes have an ability to open emergency exits, but they aren't used on most flights.
I don't particularly want that choice to be in the hands of politicians, no.

Although what you're saying is ludicrous, the democrats are more likely to impose control over the internet because progressives will do pretty much anything to stamp out thoughts and ideas that are contrary to theirs.

He doesn't want to shut it down. He wants to be able to have the ability to turn it off if a cyber attack is taking place.

I love AJ he is as funny as hell. Then again I have a warped sense of humor to. I like to rearrange the furniture in a house full of blind people.

I am not sure about Romney's position on the Internet Kill Switch. I have not heard him utter one word about it. Please provide a link to where he has supported it.
That said, it would not surprise me because there is a great fear in the Homeland Security World that the internet will be the gateway through which an enemy will attack out defense and infrastructure. Our utility infrastructure is practically unprotected from this kind of attack. While I do not favor the internet kill switch, there needs to be a means of protecting our nation from a cyber attack and the kill switch fulfills that role until something batter is developed.
What worries me more than that is that the Democrat Congress and President Obama are advocating a bill, now before the US Senate, that would require all companies doing business on the internet to pay taxes to the states for all sales made in that state. This bill also will enable other controls to be placed on internet commerce as well as free communications, intellectual property, and all sorts of issues that today are prohibited by US law. The Republican Party has opposed this move and I assume/believe that Romney does as well.

**** star, Jenna Jameson recently said, "Mitt Romney is the only person I know of who has assumed more positions than I have!"
Nevertheless, the only way Mitt would have made such a statement is if three yokels from the Ozarks said they wanted to see the internet shut down. Mitt would have agreed wholeheartedly just to get the three votes.
Otherwise, I doubt he said it. ;-)

Nope. He doesn't. I'm much more worried about the goons trying to control the internet through SOPA. In that case, we'd still have the internet but you wouldn't recognize it.

GET OUT OF HERE! Where did you get that information? I wouldn't doubt that he made another ridiculous comment, but that seems too ridiculous, even for him!

That is ridiculous to think that one would rid the internet when it constitute so much of the life today even for the one issued the idea! His campaign would fall, money would take forever to move, among other very important issues that surround the internet... Although I grew up without it, I lived abroad for 7 years and it was the internet that kept me sane! LOL
