I find it baffling that you have to go through a more extensive background check including household visits and interviews with every member of the household to adopt a dog, yet you can buy a semi-automatic rifle at a gun show with no questions asked.

Or that someone would actually sell one to someone regardless of their mental stability (or lack thereof) IF the price is right. And it is also Harder to adopt a dog then it is to get married, cost less, but still.

Things were not her fault, She did not go out and shoot anybody, He took the guns from her after she was shot. He was the unbalanced one don't try to blame her

If you knew your child was acting (to quote her) scary and he scared you, would you have such weapons around, evidently he had the key, or code to gun cabinet, providing they were locked up in the first place.

I believe all the new reports said the guns were lock up in a cabinet and he took them. A mother love for her child runs deep she probably was trying to get him help but because of the mental health care in this country she could not.

He was really wanting to do damage. Thank gawd the sirens he heard, made him stop. Was he wanting to hurt those his Mother may of bragged about or shown her softer side to?

That baffles me two. She knew her son had issues, and chose to have weapons within reach. What was she thinking. I'm pro gun, have a troubled son , and would never think of having guns in the house for that reason. If she wanted to be an idiot and risk her own life, fine. But this stupid ***** is partially responsible for the loss of 26 others. Too bad she's dead. I'd like to see her suffer the consequences of her stupidity. Where does common sense go with some people these days.

She should have had her firearms secured better. She is dead now so I guess her price of irresponsibility has been paid. The other victims will not be so lucky as the shooter decided to kill himself last. If he had just blown his own skull to pieces first we would not even be having this as a topic for discussion.

Someone told me that she was obsessed over 12/12 or something like that which may have played on her sons mind. I guess no one will really know the truth until authorities find more things out.
