Mother-in-Laws: Is getting along with your Grandchildren's Parents important?

How much effort do you extend in order to keep the best possible relationship with your Son or Daughter In Law? Have you set rules and boundries for your behavior and level of involvment in your child's relationship? What are they?

yes.. we are apart of the g/childrens life.. look at it this way ... if it wasn't for us , you wouldn't have a husband/wife !

I do think it's important to have a positive relationship with your in-laws. I also think it's important to make very clear (respectfully of course) that YOU are the parents and your rules, etc. need to be the guidance in how your children are looked after when in their care.
I just thank God I have AWESOME in-laws. My mother and father in-law are great people and live close enough to be wonderfully helpful and far enough away that they aren't 'over everyday'. I have absolutely no concerns about leaving our children with their grandparents.
