Nobody. The country will collapse long before anyone worries about paying it back.

The same people that paid for the last one.

Get over the wars already......They were needed......I mean come on now....THEY took five of our planes.....and crashed them into three building....Would have been four....But Some great American Heros....Took the first stand....and made them plow that thing into the ground....Just the thought stills makes my heart go pitty pat....But I digress....

Where was I....Oh ya...The bail out......I will....my kiuds will....my grandkids will...and so on...and so on...and so on....You get my point.....I think that any of the bail outs were a bad idea.....People need to know that they are held accountable for what they do.....ANd they have to know that they must look into the future....and ask themselves "What if" before they sign on the dotted line......But the bail out is here....Now we must use it for the good of the nation......Make the banks use it for the little man before the CEO and their men get any pay raises....or bonisis....Use it to break up the unions of the auto industry....I mean they were needed once....But not now...They have priced the US auto's out of the market place....And the common man needs to know that there are bad times ahead....But our grandparents and great grandparents faced the same thing in the 20's and 30's.....Let us do like them...Plant a food garden...so you can eat......Chickens and rabbits are great to raise....Chickens give you eggs....and when that stops...Well fried...baked....or stewed.....you can feed rabbits with what you trim off of what you get out of your garden.....Meet the people next door...and play cards....Read....ANd so many now have DVD's....Well you can have a movie nights all of the time...>You do not need cable....If we all do our part...We will get through this thing....ANd be a better person on top of it

Why hasn't anyone asked who is going to pay for the 2 wars which have cost way more than the bailout. What about the Wall Street Bailout? Why is it only *this* bailout?

Singer1960 Is spot on. Get over the war thing I am tired of hearing the dull whining anyway,it is so 2005, and were almost out of them any how. For the record, I have started to do what Singer1960 suggest we got our selfs debt free,it was allot of hard work but we did it. we had our own garden last year, saved a bunch of money and when they(the government) had that tomato & pepper recall... we didn't! Ours were home grown and super yummy, shared them with our neigbors, they made us salsa in return! We had a fresh salsa and beer party! I am looking forward to that garden again this year, and no I am not 50ish I am in my early thirty's and I like hanging out in my garden. And I like having no payments on any of my belongings. I am glad my husband and I decided to clean up our own buget mess and I have noticed that our consumion of things and stuff has gone way down, which is a good example for our kids and is also better for the enviroment. Our recycling has been cut in half because I reuse some packing for storage. Perhaps our government should start doing the same... start looking in our own back yard instead of importing so much stuff from over seas. And reusing tech's in diffrent ways to save money. Seems to me that would jump start our economy just as fast. We could all use the jobs!

The goverment and wall street may be having trouble, but in my neighbor hood were havin fried green tomato's and salsa and chips this summer! Life is good...you just have to pick up some habits from your great grandparents!

Which Mr. President are you referring to? Which bailout?

This new president inherited a record budget deficit of $482 billion!!!!!

Where this come from? From 2 weeks of new administration?

In other words, if now we are worried about our grandchildren being stuck with debt... too late, really really late.

For people only now waking up for the fact that our grandchildren and future generations being stuck with bill: this ship has sailed loooooooooooong time ago.

Any politician screaming outrage now is nothing but a coward hypocrite. Politicians have principles only when they are NOT in power and are able to share their piece of cake.

It would be awesome if all these politicians acting 'in principles' and concern about our future generation have had the balls to stand against their own misleading leaders.

We are already paying dearly for years, some of us anyway. I came to the conclusion some people must be living in a different country where there is no recession at all.... good for them.

As the Bush Admin is held accountable for their many, MANY crimes and malevolent deeds, their holdings should be confiscated to reimburse the country for Iraq and Afghanistan and the housing decline and the Wall St Bailout and the Big 3 Automakers Bailout.

Meanwhile, the economy will be gainful again due to the Obama Stimulus Package. The US needs to catch up to the rest of the world in renewable energy. The US should've been prominent in the Kyoto Agreement and thanks to Obama, WILL BE prominent in the Copenhagen Agreement due to take place in December.

Hope and Change are happening, like it or not.

If the name of the game is who can run the biggest deficit, then Obama has his work cut out for him since he is trying to take over after all Republican rule (the fiscal conservatives, remember? lol!) from 2000 to 2006.

By asking this question you are hinting that the government should do nothing. I assure you this is not an option. The economy is contracting and shedding jobs at an alarming rate, and the losses are accelerating. January alone saw 600,000 jobs disappear. By doing nothing our economy is set to lose over a trillion dollars, which in case you haven't noticed, is more than the the amount of Obama's scary stimulus bill.

Quit crossing your fingers and hoping this bill fails so that you can say "I told you so!" It's disgusting how the house republicans are doing this very thing.
