For most of human history, thousands of generations, young women her age were getting married and having babies. (Hint: that is why the age for bleeding is where it is) Of course she wants to be recognized as a woman and get on with her life as her available baby making years are rapidly sliding by.

You can all say it's too young- but it really depends on the individual. I begun dating at 14- and i'm still with the same guy to this day.

And you have to let her do just that. You will be her safety net for many years to come, it's the privilege of being a parent :O)

When my girls started dating I would always ask if the boy had a driver's license & want to see it. After writing down the info, I would ask to check the condition of his car & to see proof of insurance. My daughters didn't like it, but the guys always knew I cared what happened to them & I was serious. I'm happy I did it.

that heartache and heartbreak is a part of life's beauty, though.. so no I don't want to spare them the sweetest suffering they'll ever know. Let em fall let em learn to get up again with you there to support them. jeez it's a no-brainer.

As a father, and grandfather, I understand the desire to grow up ahead of schedule, and the desire for we parents to protect and guide them. There must be a balance if you're all to be happy.
Chaparoned date with older brother or sister?
Party with parents home and attentive?
Public date like the movies or a restaurant?
You gotta give something mom...believe me.

This is an opportunity to demonstrate to her that you have faith in her judgement, and an opportunity for her to demonstrate that you're correct in doing so. Let her go, but with a curfew and an itinerary you approve of, and turn on GPS tracking in her cell phone just in case.

Let her first be a tall, strong, hung, buff black man. White girls love that (:
