My boyfriend moved away about 8 months ago but he never calls or sends letters, or e-mails. What should i do?

My boyfriend moved away about 8 months ago but he never calls or sends letters, or e-mails. What should i do? I love him very much but I feel that i am the only one making our realationship work. Then I imagine what he might be doing with friends or what hes not telling me. Its exhausting. I know i should trust him. I'm insecure about me and it reflects on the realationship. And his friend tells me things about my boyfriends and then i get more insecure. When he was here he always did anything to see me happy. But now that he's gone he doesn't even tell me he has a new cell phone! I flew to visit him and everything was as if we'd just pick up where we left off. And now that i'm back home it all went back to 'why doesn't he call,' or 'why didn't he tell me about his new phone.' What should i do?!
please help i have none else i can ask.

You might not like this answer BUT you asked.

MOVE ON ... You have become obsessed with him and he has obviously moved on .. When your boyfriend moved away, where did he go? To the service, another state, working at a different job? You don't say.

A long distance relationship is hard at best ..
Even thought he said he would remain your boyfriend, which I am surmising, he obviously doesn't know how to be a long distance boyfriend.

You are just an email away
Or a phone call away
He didn't share his cellphone number with you
What does this tell you?

Please be honest with yourself and make yourself happy by finding another boyfriend who will be right there in front of you to share life with... to go to the movies with.. to cuddle with, and to appreciate.

This boyfriend doesn't appreciate you or what the world girlfriend means.
Blessing to you

-tell him what you just told us - it will help, I think

some people (myself included) positively despise talking on phones - mayhaps he's the same?

tell him what you just told us - don't be shy - embarrassed - or afraid of breaking the relationship - your silence may break it as surely as any words might.

be brave

Ya know, as someone who lives apart from his wife while we're both attending graduate school, I can tell you that my wife often feels the same way. My days are long and busy and it's not easy for me, and people like me, to schedule aside time to talk on the phone with her. And here's the other thing, we only live two hours apart, so we still see one another often, but when I'm back in class she gets to feeling like I've forgotten her.

However, there are notable differences between my situation and yours. I get to see my wife often, I do NOT have a new cell phone, and our friends don't meddle in our relationship and tell each of us things about the other that they have no place telling us.

That said, here's what you gotta do: Ask him where he sees your relationship going. Are you no longer a major piece of his future? Ask! And don't be offended if you're not. Studies show that we like the people we're around most, it's the principle of proximity. If this is the case, he'll hopefully be man enough to let you down now rather than string you along. Again, it's not you, its that you're not there.

Long distance relationships are hard, they suck, and more often than not, they fail. You're both sacrificing alot, and in most cases thats just too much to ask of some people.

I'm sorry, I hope things improve, but if not, you can always talk to me, or I'm sure anyone else on here.

Realize that he's no longer your boyfriend and move on. Don't waste anymore energy on him.

The saddest part of your question is that you still call him "your boyfriend", when it is clear he has moved on to something or someone else.

Don´t do this to yourself.

He´s an ex. Not in your life anymore. And you will be happier leaving this relationship behind and finding a person that truly cares for you.

stop calling, sending letters or e-mails. Leave the ball in his court. do this immediately. start getting to know other people. relax and let go. just let life unfold for you, don't try to force it.

A relationship only truly works if both people are active in it. If he is not holding up his end, drop him and find someone who treats you right.

Try asking him how he feels about your relationship long distance. It seems like you both need to talk about the difficulties and benefits of you being long distance. I've done long distance, and with distance it became more difficult for me to chat on a constant basis. Just talk with him. A lack of communication will likely be your downfall.
The fact that he has a new cell phone is a little odd. Things like that should come up in conversation (new number, at least, not new model).

Actually you need to ask him. We can't read his mind or know why he is acting the way he is. It's possible that he is dating and doesn't want to be tied down but at the same time wants to keep you on hold until and unless he finds the woman to replace you.

Your best bet is to move on. HE IS NOT THINKING ABOUT OR WORRIED ABOUT YOU OR YOU WOULDN'T BE FEELING LIKE YOU ARE. The relationship is over. Don't get bogged down in your one way love affair. You lose every time.

Do talk to him.. share with him all of this... it was very heartfelt and he should hear it. Just be open and honest and see what happens.
I'm sorry you are sad and feeling this way...
Please, talk to him....

It's very sad when this happens...but it sounds like you are very codependent...feeling you must continue to pursue him despite the obvious signs that he's just stringing you along...prolly for the free sex you just gave him when you were there. He has a new girlfriend for sure. The new cell phone and not calling you is the clue. That or he's gone gay...but either way, I'm sorry to say, he's moved on. Time for you to recognize that. If I loved you as you apparently love this guy, do you think I could be away from you geographically and not want to hear your voice all the time...and see you as often as possible? I'd be calling daily...or at the very least, more than once a week. If he's not calling, it's because he has another love interest...virtually for certain. I'd give odds on that. Only thing that would surprise me would be if he DOESN'T have someone else.
