My boyfriend of a year is joining the Marines and has recently been pushing me away and wants to take a break. Help?
I've been with my boyfriend for a little over a year now, and we've been friends for longer. We have so much between us and have made plans for our future together in the military. When he first changed his mind about leaving sooner for the Marines, it was hard for me because we had made different plans. But I took some time and thought about it and decided no matter what it was worth it. So after fighting him tooth and nail to postpone his joining by just a year so he could complete his associates, I realized that no matter what I would support him and apologized for fighting it. But the last few days he started talking to me less, making me a smaller priority and just overall pushing me away. And last night we talked on the phone and he said he wanted to take a break. He doesn't think I can handle his leaving and he gave a bunch of other reasons I was able to prove didn't work. I know he's pushing me away because he's scared but I am so scared of losing him, I don't know what to do.
