yep, sadly, sounds like the dog would be better suited for an environment without children

Was your 1 year old ******* with it? If yes, keep the dog away from the kid. If no, get rid of the dog, it may be dangerous. If the kid was hurting the dog (VERY likely) it's only the dog's natural response and will occur with almost any dog. Keep a close eye one them.

You could try and figure out why the dog is doing that.

Or be an ignorant pet parent and ditch the animal to the spca and tell them it bites and then the dog gets put down because of some behaviour issues that probably could have been fixed if only the person took the time to figure out why the animal was acting out.......................................................................

Yes, your dog obviously doesn't take well to children. Something worse could happen if your child was to be around the dog without supervision.

I'm not totally sure, but that is 'NOT' a good sign to keep the dog!

YES! I would never chance my child's safety for an animal.

Instantly, right now. Chain the dog outside right now, find somewhere new for it in the morning. Never bring them together again.

The dog would be gone so fast, it wouldn't know what hit him...

Yes, get rid of the dog. I have seen this happen in my family before. The dog is jealous and it isn't as easy to explain to a dog that a one year old won't hurt them than vice versa.

Jesus

Drama queens or what

The dog growled, it did not bite
A dog can only vocalise in growls, barks or whimpers.
A growl can mean so many things from "back the **** up" to "i think theres someone coming up the driveway"

Does your one year old torment the dog? Does it offer it food then pull it away?

Infact you know what, give the dog away youre clearly not a responsible owner and if you cant look after a dog then you shouldnt have kids either

well done you now you have nothing

The dog needs to be removed immediately from the home.

Unfortunately, yes. But, "get rid"? Find him a good, childless home.
