My mom was never there for me either, when I was fifteen I moved in with my father. I saw her once when I was eighteen and now I'm nearly twenty-three. Sometimes it's just better to move on and keep toxic people out of your life.<br />

Now my mom is trying to repair the relationship with me, because she wants to see my daughter (who she has never met). I stopped trying three years ago, since I always ended up disappointed in her effort. I don't even respond to her anymore, because it's not worth the disappointment. I am much happier without her in my life.

I cut ties 3 years ago for those reasons in part- wish I'd done it 30 years sooner- they just keep damaging
