I really can't believe all these people who automatically assume your parents must be right. Makes me sick.

You have the ability to make your own choices. Use it. Just because the law says you are officially inferior to your parents, doesn't make it true. None of us can know if you SHOULD be with him or not, and none of us know whether your parents are smart or not. But the point is that you must use your own judgement to make your own decisions. Consider the input of others, but don't blindly obey.

If you really love each other, a year or two won't make a substantial difference when you are contemplating a life lone attachment.

Teenage love can be a wonderful and fun experience. But your parents have years of experience on their side. I am sure they just want what is best for you and I would trust their opinion, despite how much it might hurt. Just don't go making any rash decisions based on what you feel is "love." Wait until you're 25 or so to go following love. Focus on yourself and your own dreams and desires. Go to college. Experience life.

There must be a good reason why they don't want you with him. Take their advise.

Every 16-17 girl thinks she's in love till the guy breaks up and breaks her heart. But, if you're love is anything like those Disney Movies, things are smooth sailing :) Depends on how he treats you otherwise? Ask your friends how he treats you, because a girl in love dousent always tell if their used. I mean this in the nicest way possible, if you're taking any offence to this.
