New here and asking for help from former meth addicts. How did you do it? Please..give me advice!

I hate it, yet love it. I run but it won't let me go. I hide and it finds me. I cry and it seems to comfort, yet then more tears fall, this **** controls me and I can't let go. Where do I start? How can I escape the addiction that I never thought would be mine?

Man it isn't easy BAS but I've been clean about 6 years now. I was slammin it smoking it snorting it you name it. People, places and things you need to change. Nothing changes if nothing changes. Find an N.A. meeting you like, go early and stay late and find a sponsor. I was never a big advocate for AA or NA but I believe it's the only way I'm going to stay Sober so I do. I look at it like a job. I gotta go everyday--some days are better than others but I always got to go. Good luck and peace be wit you.

Thanks for the encouragement. Its hell, I curse it while I do it! I crave it, spend my day playing the game..then as it enters my lungs, I watch that smoke and I hate it! I hate that it runs me! I hate that I can't just get up out of bed (on days I do finally go to bed) and do what I used to do. No energy, no motivation. I'm completely unreliable, never on time. It takes me hours to do things I could do in no time. Getting out the door is a joke! So u know my pain? What did it..what got u to finally get enough muscle to just scream in the face of the controlling bastard? Sorry about that but I've got some pretty strong feelings!

To be honest I unexpectedly got pregnant. I did smoke it maybe 2 times after I knew, not proud of that, but it is what it is. I call him my miracle baby. After I gave birth his father and I had a falling out, he attempted to run me over, long story short he got prison and I started drinking to cope with my PTSD and anxiety. Finally I said enough is enough I can't live this way and put myself into treatment. Best thing I could have done. Stay strong xoxo

I was never addicted but did a bit, I learned to hate it for it take away three pleasures, eating, sleeping, and sex. Try to value and indulge in these pleasures instead of meth, and smoking weed will help alot also

I'm a former crack addict. In order for me to get clean I had to look at the things I didn't like seeing to start developing an attitude towards it. Then I had to cancel all friendships I had with other addicts, burn my dealers numbers which I had informed not to come if I called and then I moved my residence. I have been clean for a long time now and have no desire to go back to it. Hang in there, seek professional help if you feel you can't do it alone and most importantly, no matter how hard it seems to get...remain strong!!
